Shower in apartment keeps breaking - what to do?

Hi all,

I live in a brand new building in BK. The mechanism for the shower is extremely stupid. In order to switch the water from the bath faucet to the shower head, you have to lightly tug on the faucet and part of the faucet will pop out and the water will switch to showerhead.

I'm 90% sure this is the faucet:

Parallel Wall-Mount Bath Spout | K-23510 | KOHLER

In March of this year, I was showering and saw water spewing from the wall/top of faucet. Then, the faucet SHOT out of the wall and water started coming out of the pipe. Thankfully, I managed to get out of the way fast enough and did not get hit. But just barely.

Contacted maintenance and management, faucet was fixed next afternoon.

Flash forward to now: May during a heatwave. I turned the water on to shower, tugged on the faucet piece like im supposed to, and the faucet disengaged from the wall and water started coming out of the wall. I turned the water off fast enough and the faucet didn't fly out. Was fixed next morning, but I had to reschedule my work week because of it.

This has happened to multiple other residents. I'm legitimately worried about getting hurt - if im turned away for a moment and this flies out and hits me in the back... thats gonna be bad.

Is there anything people suggest I do (and maybe my neighbors too)? Should we just keep making sure we document these problems? I'm really scared someone is gonna get hurt, even if it isnt me.
