Upper SC - What should I do to improve the thin/patchy areas?

My routine for our bermuda lawn isn't too crazy - fertilize monthly (1lb N per 1000sqft), about an inch of water & two cuts weekly with a rotary (although I haven't cut in about a full week recently due to non stop rain). Thing is, I see pretty decent results in most of the yard in terms of thickness & color, but there are certain spots that are still sporadically brown and/or thin, yet they get the same amount of water, fert, and cutting as everywhere else, but it just doesn't grow as fast or get as much color. Any suggestions are appreciated. Soil is hard clay, soil test from late last year only showed that ph is optimal (6.17) and just recommended to feed the lawn N. Haven't done aeration or dethatching as I've heard they're not optimal for Bermudagrass, but again, I'm open to any suggestions.
