Tips for newcomers

Hey everyone,
I recently moved to Lisbon from Brazil and I’m trying to get to know more of the city’s underground/artsy scene.
I’m really into some blackwork art, medieval aesthetics, rock/metal/emo, engraving/woodcut visuals, alternative bars and creative spaces

So far I’ve been really enjoying the vibe around places like Intendente and some of the smaller hidden bars in the center.
Would love some recommendations where artists usually hang out.

Still exploring the city and hoping to meet people with similar interests :)

What tattoo aesthetics are getting bigger in the UK lately?

I’m a Brazilian tattoo artist currently spending some time in Europe and I’ve been noticing a big difference in aesthetics compared to back home.
In Brazil, a lot of people still lean towards realism, fine line or more commercial styles, but here I keep seeing more:
heavy blackwork
medieval references
engraving textures
cyber sigils
brutal/dark aesthetics
I’m curious how people in the UK see this shift.
Do you feel darker/alternative tattoo styles are becoming more popular there lately?
Or is it still something more niche/underground?
Also trying to understand which cities/spaces have stronger scenes for this kind of work.
Eventually I’d love to do a guest spot somewhere in the UK, so any recommendations for studios, events or communities are welcome.

Does Lisbon have artists into this aesthetic?

Been experimenting with darker medieval / engraving-inspired tattoo textures lately.

I did this face piece recently and got curious if there are more people, artists or spaces in Lisbon connected to this kind of aesthetic.

Feels a bit niche here compared to Brazil, but maybe I just haven’t found the right places yet.

Looking to connect with Lisbon’s alternative/art community

Hey everyone,
I’m a Brazilian tattoo artist currently based in Lisbon, trying to connect more with the city’s alternative / underground scene.
My work is mostly focused on dark blackwork, medieval-inspired designs, engraving aesthetics and ornamental pieces.
I’ve been exploring places, events, bars and creative spaces around Lisbon and honestly really enjoying the energy here so far.
I’m also looking for people interested in tattoos with this kind of darker aesthetic — and maybe even potential collaborations with alternative venues, events or art spaces in the future.
Would love recommendations for:
underground bars
rock/metal spots
alternative events
creative communities
places where this kind of art/style fits naturally
