How Do I Choose a Career Path?

Hi everyone

I’m currently at the end of my 1st year in a tier-3 university where placements are honestly very low....This whole year I kept trying to figure out what I actually want to do in my career but I ended up switching between too many things.

I started with web development, then moved to video editing, motion graphics, Python, AI/ML exploration and then again came back to full-stack and DSA. The main problem is that I’m not able to focus on one thing consistently for even 6 months straight. Whenever I start something ..after a while I begin questioning if it’s the right path and start looking at other skills.

Now I feel stuck and confused bcoz I’ve explored many things but haven’t gone deep into any of them.

I wanted advice from seniors or people who have gone through something similar:

* How did you decide your career path?

* Is it normal to feel this lost in the first year?

* How do you stop jumping between skills and stay consistent?

* Should I focus on placements, development, AI/ML, or something else?

Any honest advice would really help... Thanks :)
