Hello,
I was hoping to gain some insight as to if I am being unreasonable or not. Instead of writing a few paragraphs, I’ve got bullet points -
- changed flight to day before original flight, same time on Sunday was 196 dollars more than later flight. Makes sense, paid it
- first leg was delayed at airport then delayed in air due to air force one at Miami. Makes sense, connection will be tight (30 minutes, customs, lol)
- got to the gate, someone in front of me was getting on. American had changed my flight already and the gate agent had to switch me back. Fine someone else is getting on in front of me, gate agent is scanning boarding pass, I should be good
- go outside to plane (D60 for yall MIA people) and the gate is closed. I run to find someone and they tell me I can’t get on plane
- go back to gate agents and they tell me to pound sand even though I watched someone walk up the jet bridge in front of me.
- stand there for 20 minutes while they get me back on the later flight.
My question is - am I being unseasonable asking for a refund of my 196 dollars? The later flight that I am now on was the same price as my original flight.
Please let me know! It is frustrating but I understand miscommunication happens, I’m just worried they cost me getting on the flight when the woman in front of me walked on not 2 minutes prior
