I’m 29 and starting to think about conceiving but in the last few months I’m having irregular periods of increasing length (37, 40, 50…). I spoke to a GP and I think I made the mistake of mentioning that I wanted to try to conceive. She told me that they wouldn’t do anything about my periods if I wasn’t trying to conceive so I should start trying and come back in 2 years if that didn’t work. Didn’t ask me about any other symptoms. Am I unrealistic for expecting any kind of investigation into irregular periods on their own?
