Doctors Refused Surgery

Female, 33y - I was diagnosed with AVN on the right hip around December of last year, they did Xray and MRI. I also have sickle cell disease which was the cause of it. Now I’m limping, literally. It hurts to walk, stand or do anything. I can’t put on socks or pants like a normal person. I can’t raise my leg up and lay a certain way.

The first thing doctors recommend me to do was PT. Which I did for a month but honestly it didn’t feel any different. I went to three different doctors, all of them refused to do surgery because it’s not fully collapsed. I recently did the steroid joint injection which literally did nothing.

Now I’m suck like this for god knows how long. At this point I just want to cut off my leg cause whats the point. They keep giving the excuse that Im too young and I might need another one later on in life. They don’t seem to understand that I better have surgery now and live a normal life now, than limp my way to 50y and then fix the problem.

I’m seen other posts where people go out of state to do it but Im in Philadelphia, PA and I have Keystone First Insurance which is through the state and it’s not accepted everywhere.

Any advice would be appreciated.
