I have a very old whatsapp installed in an old j7

V 2.18.217

I need some messages for legal reasons

Whatsapp wont let me pass wrong date screen

I have tried manually setting date

Airplaine mode

Clear cache

Still same error

I no longer have that cell number

If I network the cell

It will wipe messages cuase that number belonging to a new user may have a whats installed and or whatsapp will require an upgtrade and verification via sms or both.

I am cooked. Any tips or clues greatly appreciated .
