Bone fragments after extraction— when to be concerned?
I had a very compromised tooth extracted about a week ago, upper molar (#3). The oral surgeon had to crack the tooth in multiple places and it was a pretty gruesome procedure from what I hear getting all the pieces out. They did mention that small fragments of bone were going to likely come out over the next week or so. How many is a normal amount of bone fragments after such an intense extraction? I think I’ve probably had about 10 at this point. And it’s not possible that these are the bone graph leaking, right? My partner has looked at the site in my mouth several times and has said that looks very stitched up and like clean work.
Additionally, I’m noticing a little bit of discomfort from the change to my bite and more pressure being placed on one tooth. I’m not sure if I should call my regular dentist about this, or reach back out to the oral surgeon?
Someone tell me what to do 🫠
