I was hired into Raytheon in January 2024 as a P1 into engineering (north Texas). I have since leveraged the ESP to earn a Master's degree in Engineering Management in May 2025. I am now in work for my MBA.
I am performing at a P2 level, have 2.5 YOE and am still a P1. My manager said he put me in for a in place promotion in September of 2025 (along with some other P1s and P2s in my section). As of the posting date of today, I still have not received the promotion nor, has anyone else in my section. My manager says there are things happening at higher levels preventing this but that they should go through by the end of Q2. I 90% believe him, but am having some doubt. Can anyone validate this?
Also, if I do get the promo, how much should I expect? 3%? 5%? 10%? I'd like to know what to expect. Here is my compensation:
2024 (New Hire): $79,000
2025 (Merit Raise 3%): $81,370
2026 (Merit Raise 2.8%): $83,648
I've since transitioned roles from an engineer to proposal work (as a P1). At what point do I consider reqs? I enjoy the new role I am in, but feel I should be valued higher.
