This is upsetting. Really upsetting.
Police protection exists for public safety, constitutional authorities, and a real threat.
Not for celebrity proximity or personal favoritism.
This is exactly how the public loses trust slowly over small things. People may tolerate one incident (Trisha coming to oath ceremony) but over time it creates the feeling that CM Vijay is showing favouritism to his close aide.
And before someone says “this is common everywhere” that’s the problem, normalizing misuse does not make it acceptable.
Whether it is tvk, dmk, admk, bjp or anyone else, public resources should not become unofficial VIP lifestyle extensions.
If the convoy was officially sanctioned due to an ACTUAL security assessment, they should transparently clarify it.
