[UPD] freshie concern: shifting
hello, im currently a freshie under CAL and i realized na hindi na ako masaya sa program ko … 😔 (quick rant) Originally, I wanted to take BMAS in CMC pero na-waitlist lang ako sa program na yan and passed my second choice instead which is the one im in right now. Nilagay ko siya as 2nd choice thinking na I would excel in this field like i did back in highschool but later on narealize ko na hindi na ako kasing galing tulad ng dati 😭 i lost all my motivation to attend classes, and ang lala ng burn out ko nung first sem lalo na I was still adjusting nung time na yun. I don’t want to spend my remaining years in UP stuck in a program I’m no longer passionate about, which is why I wanted to shift.
My parents wouldn’t allow me shifting to CMC though. I’ve tried everything I can to convince them pero wala, they just keep on telling me na magstay sa prog ko ngayon or magshift sa program that is still under cal. Simula pa nung una, I really wanted to get into a program na may relation sa public speaking and communication (kaya rin ako nag HUMSS noong SHS) and recently parang nabuhayan yung self ko na yan when I took Speech 30 this semester. I was so passionate about that subject LOL mas motivated na rin akong pumasok sa class na yan every week. Feel ko sobrang oa pero parang binalik niya yung academic spark ko 😭 (mainly because alam kong passionate ako sa mga ginagawa ko in that class compared sa mga majors ko)
Because of this, I am now considering to shift sa Speech Comm. Although under CAL pa rin siya, I think mas nagllean towards my skills yung program na ‘to. Some say na it is also a good pre law course (i plan on going to law school after) I just have a few questions about it:
- is there a lot of yapping in speech comm or mas heavy ang readings?
- how’s your experience in this prog? with the profs, the people, the environment in general
- how’s the shifting process?
- would shifting make a difference considering na under cal pa rin pagsshiftan ko?
