AIO? Husband drinking all day with friends
My (F28) husband (M29) wants to go to a day drinking event with friends all day tomorrow. It’s not far but also not close, so he first asked me to drive him/pick him up. It sounds like he is planning to be unable to drive and be there for about 8 hours. The alternative is that he wants to stay the night at a friend’s house and come home Sunday morning.
I’m currently pregnant in early third trimester. I’m kinda over the drinking scene (obviously), but try to be understanding/flexible. He hangs with friends 1-2 times a week (usually drinking involved), usually long plans that take up most of one weekend day, and they play video games together most nights out of the week, so it’s not like he’s deprived of social time.. I shared that I’d prefer he just take it easy on drinking so he can come home tomorrow evening. I can tell he is annoyed and is making me feel bad about having to “miss out”, and keeps asking me why he can’t just stay the night. It’s putting me in an awkward position because I’m not his mother and I don’t really have a reason “why”, moreso I just think it’s kinda time we outgrow these social patterns being married, baby on the way, etc. and honestly just don’t want him to? Idk if I’m being too uptight about it. Am I overreacting?
