R8 owners: what’s your preferred action height on your guitar?

Edit ------
Sorry about the title… unfortunately I can’t change it anymore 😄

I understand that specifically mentioning the R8 might rub some people the wrong way, but that honestly wasn’t the intention at all. I was just curious to get some setup data from other R8 owners because I figured the big neck / vintage feel might influence preferences a bit.

But if these action discussions apply to all Les Paul or gibson models too, then even better!

Hey fellow Gibson club members,

I’m curious… how do you set up the action on your Gibson?

Mine is a R8 2011 model, and my personal sweet spot seems to be around .070” on the low E at the 12th fret. Low enough to feel comfortable and expressive, but still with enough room to really dig in without too much fret buzz.

Curious to hear where other Gibson owners land on this.

If we take money out of the equation, and you had to buy a Gibson semi-hollow, which one would you choose: ES-335, ES-345, ES-355, or the newer ES Supreme series?

I have to admit, the ES Supreme in Ebony is really catching my eye. My only concern is that I might end up treating it more like a collector’s piece rather than actually playing and enjoying it…
