The lacquer has mellowed gracefully, the hardware shows honest vintage wear, and the guitar retains the kind of character that only comes from nearly fifty years of natural aging. Overall, it has matured exceptionally well and has a very authentic vintage look. However, what do you think?

Had this one for about 10 years... this was a guitar that played fantastic, sounded fantastic. But I never chose it...just kept it on the wall. The gold hardware and black plastics that came eith it made it a very.... fancy guitar. Hung on the wall and I never got it down. Decided I needed to do something to get me playing it, and thought maybe an easy change might be some nickel hardware and double whites....might not be for everyone but im glad I did it, its gotten me playing it again.

Both are in Honeyburst, can’t decide between the two, I play classic metal, thrash, blues and classic rock. Both are similar price, I also prefer warmer finishes but that doesn’t really bother me too much.
Reposted, because I found a better picture
Which do you prefer and how do you choose which to play and when? Do you use each one for different applications / genres etc?
They sound better than they look. They’re also twice as heavy. Original pickups, I believe only the tuners have been swapped out and I put on locking strap locks. It was refretted but it was played into the ground before me, and I see why
Spotted on Guitar Center's website on my internet travels, it appears Gibson is reissuing the Medallion in a slightly cheaper format than the previous Michael Schenker version released earlier in the year.

bicentennial year 1976 SG Custom I bought used in 1984. crazy to think it’s 50 years old, and more so, that I’ve owned it for 42 years.
Had a spare aged gold Faber I got for super cheap at a clearance sale as well as a bunch of saddles so I decided to get it set up for later and also try the 3 brass/3 nylon thing. Some difference in tone but nothing drastic, it looks kinda cool though.
I’ve been playing an old fender dg dread and a cheap Martin 000-CXE since my early 20s. I had the opportunity the other day to purchase a J45 that I fell in love with.
It’s been the single most rewarding purchase of my adult life. I can’t wait to play it every day after work. I wish I wouldn’t have waited so many years to pull the trigger. It just feels like I found what I had been missing! I never understood what people meant when they said they have a prize possession, until now. I don’t have many friends that will understand, and I just wanted to share my excitement with someone! Thanks, and I hope you all have a great evening!
How can you tell a real one from a fake one?
Is there a way to tell what type of LP it is - I am happy to see a link I’m sure this is all treaded ground already.
I’m paranoid to look at local marketplaces and get ripped off.
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.
There's something about a 335 that just seems to do a little bit of everything (for me). If you had to pick one guitar for life, what would you pick?
Who cares about the weight when you can just blast a raw solo with no pedals?
