Title: Has Social Media Made This Industry More Mentally Exhausting?
After almost 20 years of hosting online, one of the biggest changes I’ve noticed is how much more is expected from creators now outside of just camming itself.
Back when I first started, there really wasn’t much social media. We weren’t constantly promoting ourselves across multiple platforms or trying to stay visible 24/7. Most of the focus was just on showing up consistently, building regulars and hosting.
Now it feels like creators have to be everything at once. Host, marketer, content creator, social media manager, brand, promoter. It can become mentally exhausting fast if you don’t learn balance.
What’s interesting though is that over the years I’ve actually learned to work smarter instead of harder. I used to think success meant being online constantly, but eventually I realized burnout kills your energy and people can feel it.
Now I focus more on consistency, quality interactions and building an actual atmosphere around my brand instead of trying to be everywhere all the time.
Curious if other long term creators have noticed this shift too, or if newer creators already feel this pressure coming into the industry now.
