Hard to borrow stocks for shorting - is IBKR really the best?

Is IBKR really the best broker for finding locates for shorting, because I often find myself in situations where there are no more shares to borrow?

It doesn't matter if you try to short pre-market, it seems like the inventory is quickly evaporated.

Is there a broker difference between IBKR and other broker in locating hard to borrow stocks, if you discount the popularity of certain stocks being popular short targets?

What is constantly eating my RAM-memory (16gb RAM - M1)

Activity Console Activity
Physical memory 16,00 GB
Memory used 14,12 GB
Cached files 1,84 GB
Swap used 5,85 GB
App memory 4,08 GB

https://www.sec.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2026-42-sec-proposes-amendments-permit-optional-semiannual-reporting-public-companies

Given that the PDT rules will be rolled back starting June 4th this year, this will probably result in higher liquidity in U.S. stocks and coupled with this potential rollback, probably even more volatility in equities?

Don't know how good this is for corporate transparency to be honest having semi-annual instead of quarterly..
