My wife accidentally left her work laptop (a MacBook Air) at Terminal 8 around 8 AM before boarding a flight from New York City to Mexico City today.

We’re actually from Austin, Texas — not New York — which has made this even more stressful since we can’t just go back to the airport ourselves.

I honestly had no idea how difficult it would be to contact airport Lost & Found. We’ve been going in circles between airline support, airport numbers, and automated systems with no clear way to actually speak to someone who can help.

Has anyone dealt with this before at Terminal 8/JFK? Is there any easier or more reliable way to contact Lost & Found or recover an item quickly? We’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations.
