The orange cat is my cat (male), the calico is my boyfriend’s cat (female). My orange has been hold up in the upstairs for about 3 weeks. They have been eating by the doors and hearing each other the entire time. We swapped there locations for about a week an hour or 2 a day. We installed a screen door after 2 and 1/2 weeks between the upstairs and downstairs so they could have viewing but still have safe spaces. This is their second or third time interacting without a barrier.

Is it normal? will they be friends?
