I’m a part-time creator with an active social media page, and last summer I developed burning pain in my fingers and was diagnosed with RSI. One of the hardest parts was that I had to stop making videos for a while because editing was so manual and repetitive on my hands.
My husband is an AI engineer, and after seeing how much I was struggling, he started building an AI-native video editor to help me make videos without doing every tiny edit manually. The idea was: I could still be in creative control, but instead of clicking, dragging, trimming, labeling, and captioning everything myself, I could describe what I wanted and let the AI do more of the hand-intensive work.
After many months, it can now help assemble clips, pull moments from longer footage, add captions, create labels, and make edits from simple chat instructions. It’s honestly one of the reasons I’ve been able to start making videos again.
He’s now leaving his tech job to launch it as a real product, and we’re trying to learn from people who actually struggle with repetitive hand use.
If anyone here makes videos, edits content, or has had to give up creative work because of RSI, I’d be really grateful if you tried it or gave feedback. It’s called Spellshot: Spellshot.ai
