First Retwist Experience — Too Much Gel Used, Need Advice on Removing Potential Buildup

Hey Reddit, I’m currently 2 months into my loc journey and just got my first retwist yesterday. The issue is that I went to someone I thought was a loctician, but she seemed more like a general hairstylist, and overall I didn’t have a great experience. My hair looks fine visually, but I’m more concerned about the health of it. The woman I booked with was the manager of the shop, but she had someone else do my hair who didn’t really know how to do palm retwists, and she would step in here and there. My biggest problem, though, was that WAY too much gel was used in my hair. For some reason, I thought they were going to use an aloe vera–based natural gel because it was mentioned under the interlock service, and I assumed the same products would be used for palm retwists too. This was my first retwist, so I’m still very inexperienced with what products should or shouldn’t be used. I was hoping for something lighter and more liquid-based, but the gel they used was really thick and heavy. I honestly regret not saying anything at the appointment, especially since I paid $160, which is the most I’ve ever spent on my hair. A coworker recommended using a damp towel, which definitely helped a little, but my hair still feels sticky. I’m planning to wash my hair soon and did a quick Google search in which it recommended using clarifying shampoo to help remove buildup.

Any further advice or recommendation would be helpful!

Best Ways to Take Notes on iPad

I recently got an iPad not too long ago. I have GoodNotes, but it seems like I can't take really good notes on it yet. My handwriting looks quite small and clumped together. I'm wondering what techniques or methods you use for taking notes, and whether there are any additional tools or apps you use while note-taking-for example, using a calculator app on the side.
