I spent months making an ADHD planner and now I need honest feedback

As someone who most likely has ADHD (not diagnosed), I spent months making a digital planner for people with ADHD while most planners end up overwhelming me eventually 😭 at some point my brain starts seeing planning as a task, and then I spend more energy trying to make pages look nice than actually using the planner.

So while making this, I kept thinking more about what makes people stop using planners in the first place: overwhelm, complicated systems, too many things to track, etc.

And after 6 months of publishing it, I finally filmed a short walkthrough video for it, and now I’m working on updating the planner and creating an undated version based on feedback and real usage instead of just my own ideas.

So I’d genuinely love opinions from people here:
What makes a planner actually usable for you long-term?
What usually makes you stop using one?

I also have a free one-month version + a feedback survey if anyone wants to test it and be brutally honest about what works and what doesn’t.

Thanks in advance!

Support not answering for 3 weeks

I can't use my GoodNotes account at the moment, but I actually desperately need to. I contacted the support almost three weeks ago, and haven't gotten an answer yet. I sent everything they generally ask for already. Should I keep waiting? The automatic answer said sending another request would delay the answer even more…

Anyone who also make notes like this... how do you export your notes to high resolution pdf?

Some context: I'm a recent refugee from Samsung Notes, because the export quality is bad and the process of syncing them to a laptop is a nightmare, and they don't have a web browser version.

So I just downloaded GoodNotes on my tablet (2.0.3) (Galaxy Tab S10 FE), this is my 2nd note on it.

I like that I can view my notes like this on Goodnotes web version (Firefox 147.0.3) I've tried on Chrome/Opera, it lags, on Firefox it's better. I'm quite moved and planning to stay because this is the first time I actually see my notes in good quality, not pixeled, outside of my tablet, since last year when I first tried note-taking on a tablet), but when I try to export it to pdf, the quality is still bad... I thought it uses vector, not image?

I'm now restricted to viewing my notes in a browser on my laptop. Is there ANY WAY I can export my notes in a better resolution? Otherwise if the company is gone, our notes are gone???

My Essential subscription (I think came with the tablet) ends next year, what do you think? If I stay, I'm basically bound to pay for it yearly. Why is it so hard to find one note taking app that's truly stayable?

For anyone who also like to make notes like this, what are the solutions or alternatives?

Finally finished the pink/aesthetic version of my "Soul-Centered Study System"! Separate Arabic & English versions to keep you fully focused. What do you think✨

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for all the amazing feedback on my last post. Based on your suggestions, I’ve refined the design into this new aesthetic pink layout, and I wanted to share it with you!

Here is what makes the "Soul-Centered Study System" special:

Zero Distractions (Separate Files): To answer a great question from my last post, the Arabic and English versions are completely separate files. I didn't want to crowd the pages with multiple languages, so you can stay 100% focused on your tasks without any clutter.

Mindful Productivity: It’s designed specifically for the digital generation to balance daily study goals, habit tracking, and spiritual focus (like prayer times and mindfulness).

Clear & Simple: It includes concrete layouts for your daily agenda, workout routines, and habit trackers all in one clean view.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this new pink look! Does it feel more inviting for your study sessions? ✨🌸

why does my ipad heat up so fast?

I have an iPad Air 11-inch (M3), on IOS 26, and when I use Goodnotes, it heats up incredibly fast. at the top where the camera is and the apple pen. I already have turned off the automatic backup stuff but does anyone know why this keeps happening? Goodnotes is on the newest version (I think) and I have Essential :(

battery drain is my last straw

it’s just so so so annoying. m5 ipad pro 13inch battery at 100% (the thing doesn’t even have 3 months since opened) and it blows 30% battery in like an hour. i’ve tried everything (turn off sync, turn off maths and even handwriting recognition) and nothing seems to work. i’m seriously considering switching apps cause i feel this is not safe for my device at all. so awful, goodnotes devs are working backwards ffs

Is the “Grid Snapping” new feature in recent update? How does it works?

Any easy way to transfer notes back to apple notes

Howdy,

Sadly my Good notes sub is up and I don't like it anymore. Is there a way to export to Apple Notes? I have a lot of workbooks for work and it's going to take me a while.

App crashes al the time

Hello

I have my Calculus 3 exam tomorrow, and all my notes are in GoodNotes. I'm not able to prepare because the app crashes every 10–20 seconds.
I use it on IPad Pro with the latest version of the app.

Goodnotes draining 53% battery in 1 hour on iPad Pro

What the title says. I charged it to 100%, used it for 1 hour, and it was down to 47%. This is obviously very bad. My iPad Pro 6th gen 12.9” has a max capacity of 96% however this sort of drastic drain is a severe bug especially considering I use it for most classes. In addition, my iPad was constantly in a “fair” to “serious” thermal state (according to apple dev docs with 75% - 50% brightness and screen rate limiting). Hope this helps :)

luv this app 🤬🤬🤬

What the actual fuck, this is so annoying. Ever since the update, when I try to copy/paste stuff, artifacts of random handwriting is layered on top of what I was trying to paste.
The artifacts are random bits of sentences from like 5, 10, 15 pages ago. I assume it’s a clipboard bug, but I wrote that stuff so long ago that I can’t even recall if it was ever copied/pasted.

95% of the time, the stuff that hitchhiked out of nowhere behaves totally normal (as in: I can erase it, change colour, resize, etc). But every once in a while, a couple letters/random bits are just completely immune. I can’t erase them, I can’t select them with the lasso, nothing.

Closing/reopening the app doesn’t fix it.
Restarting my iPad doesn’t fix it.
I’m gonna lose my mind, wtfff

Basic needs as a user

I recently moved to GoodNotes, after I couldnt find an app that could do the basics for journaling on ipad (these needs are like: be able to write with the pen, low latency, add graphics, write on keyboard, no infinite canvas, etc). I would love the Paper by Wetransfer app but the price is crazy.

The question is:
- Is it possible to somehow tell GoodNotes developers to make it possible to zoom out far in a page? I have to see the layout, the visual harmony of my journal and notes
-is it really that crazy to have page turning animation?
-and also a good overview of the whole notebook
-aand to be able to hide the toolbar completely

Goodnotes on Windows is genuinely unusable and I'm so done with it

I don't even know where to start. I've used Goodnotes on my iPad for years and it's great there. But the Windows version? It's been complete garbage for like six months now and I've had enough.

Opening a folder takes 20-30 seconds. Sometimes I click something and literally nothing happens. The whole UI just freezes or ignores me. Everything loads forever. It's laggy doing the most basic stuff. And I can't even force a sync between my iPad and PC so half the time I don't know if my notes are even current.

And before anyone says it's my hardware — it's not. I've tried it on TWO computers. My gaming PC and my laptop (i7, 32GB RAM). Both equally awful. I tried the web version too, same thing.

Yeah I have a lot of imported PDFs. Handwriting recognition is already off. So that "fix" everyone mentions doesn't apply to me.

I'm trying to STUDY with this and it's just not possible on anything except my iPad. What's the point of paying for an app that works on multiple platforms if it only actually works on one of them?

Few questions:

  • Is everyone dealing with this or did I break something specific?
  • Has anyone actually fixed this for good? And I don't mean "restart the app", I mean actually fixed
  • Do tons of imported PDFs cause this? Did clearing some out help anyone?
  • Is there some force-sync option between iPad and PC I'm not seeing?
  • If you ditched Goodnotes on Windows, what did you go to? I need something that runs well on BOTH iPad and Windows with sync that actually works

I genuinely don't want to switch, I like Goodnotes on the iPad. But I can't keep studying like this.

Best Ways to Take Notes on iPad

I recently got an iPad not too long ago. I have GoodNotes, but it seems like I can't take really good notes on it yet. My handwriting looks quite small and clumped together. I'm wondering what techniques or methods you use for taking notes, and whether there are any additional tools or apps you use while note-taking-for example, using a calculator app on the side.

Goodnotes for Windows handwriting lag and random lines- app became unusable for studying

I’ve been having a really frustrating issue with Goodnotes for Windows for the past few months and I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

I use Goodnotes daily for studying, so this has become a huge problem. Whenever I write with my stylus, the handwriting appears several seconds later, and instead of what I actually wrote, random lines or marks show up. It basically makes handwriting unusable.

What’s strange is that both my pen and tablet work perfectly fine in every other app no lag, no glitches, no random input. The issue only happens in Goodnotes.

I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but nothing changed. I’m currently on version 2.18.0, and there’s no update option available, so I assume this is the latest version.

Is anyone else dealing with this? Did anyone find a fix?

What’s your favorite way to organize GoodNotes notebooks?

I’m curious how people organize their GoodNotes setup, like folders, covers, templates, colors, tags, or naming systems that make notes easier to find later.

Short Survey About Writing on Tablets & Stylus Usage (2–3 min)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a university project about tablet and stylus ergonomics and I’m looking for people who regularly write or draw on tablets to participate in a short survey.

The survey takes about 2–3 minutes and is completely anonymous.

I’d really appreciate any participation or shares. Thanks! :)
