I got both reds off players trying to extract. One behind hotel, and one came running towards me after getting a red at the merchant. I play covert ops to fight as underdog, but sometimes raids get juicy!
Just saw this vid of Shamixx where he checks ping by using a VPN at I guess the start of the game, then he tabs in and just uses the vpn for a few seconds later on to check if it ping or not. What is he using?

Love me some undercover action. Wish we could earn some tokens to skip the wait, or have a cooldown with stacked tickets so I could play two in a row.
Covert Ops is stronger than before, as you get free regen/pk stims and the m4/mp5 scavs give t3 armor and good guns.
Some tips I havent seen yet. If you played the PvE at start it was a lot harder first few days, its now been tuned to be easier. Loot is higher than lockdown and amplified by the smelter.
Smelter tips:
Since knowing how the smelter works. Ive done two raids solo PVE getting 5.4 and 7.4 million koen.
3 purple items will give you a gold, and 3 gold will give you usually a 6 slot gold at 240k with a chance of a red.
But 3 gold items of the same item have a much higher chance of high value. Lowest items are 4 slots at 300k like porcelain plate or record player. And 5 slots chance of a red instead of 2-3. These items are more valuable, lighter and takes less slots.
I also bring in 3 pc. of different purples to have good items for the first/second smelter. I then use the heavy items on the first smelter. If they have high value, like 3 "military tool kit" (65k value) will give you 300k 4 slot items with high chance of a red.
I only loot gold/purple items with a value of 15k or more. As 3 purple items with value of 10k dont upgrade to the higher loot bracket.
I try to save similar golds so for the last smelter Ill have 3 of a kind.
Hostile Sector/PvE tips:
Northridge has 4 smelters and loads of safes. So I prefer that. I usually have 3-10 minutes left with time.
What Im bringing:
I use a hk for Northridge, and ak12 for farm. I go in with 14mags with bullets and 2 60 mags. I bring around 700 bullets of t3. I toss the 30 mags after spending them to save time.
IMTV full armor, with t4 helmet and visor. Biggest rig and backpack.
The green stim to fix broken limbs if Im in a shit position and need to heal fast, 1 regen stims, 2 endurance stims, 2 str stims, 4 drinks, 7-12 dura of the big surgical, around 1k heal, and one molly.
Tips for time:
I use the regen booster after going into hotel to clear it faster and not needing to heal.
While running between safes on the map I avoid the bots I dont need to kill to save time. The bots are in clusters at the same spaces, so after a few runs its easier to avoid them. Same if they see me and run the other way, Ill just keep going.
I prefer taking bots at mid range or close. Most will shoot 4-6 shots when they see you and reload, so use cover and take them out.
I plan my route after safes, smelters and air drop. I usually skip sewage plant for time, also if boss spawns there it will take a lot more time for little reward.
When packing mags, I use the reload wheel, so you can open containers while packing mags. I only pack mags at the end after discarding my cheap mags. And I only pack mags in rooms with loads of containers so Im saving time.
