Vasa previa delivery timelines and NICU stays

I’m at risk of vasa previa and all I’ve been told is that I’ll be looking at a pre-term delivery which has a very good chance of a NICU stay for my baby.

I’m wondering if anyone else has a vasa previa delivery story to share: how early did you have to get your c-section, and how long did your baby need to stay in the NICU?

Waking up with back pain

I’ve been waking up on my back and in terrible back pain (it’s upper/middle back pain). I have a pregnancy pillow yet I’m still finding myself on my back and I’m worried it’s been affecting the blood flow to my baby (he has a growth restriction).

How do you prevent back sleeping? I slept like this with my other two kids and never experienced any back pain or issues but this is a much different, more high risk pregnancy so I’m wondering if that’s why it’s making a difference.

Breastfeeding experiences for IUGR babies after NICU discharge

I’m curious if anyone can speak to their experiences trying to breastfeed once their NICU babies have been discharged. I do not know when my baby will be born, but we’re facing almost certain IUGR diagnosis in our near future as growth has been dropping by a day a week since 20 weeks. We’re currently at 10 days behind at 23 weeks.

I would love to be able to breastfeed my baby since he’ll be our last (#3) and I had such great experiences with my other two, but I know there are challenges with preemies. Particularly when growth restriction is a factor and goal is to get them as many calories as quickly as possible.

Additionally, I have a very fast letdown so I’m concerned a preemie might not be able to keep up with it. Both my other boys were 41 weekers and even my second who was my bigger baby (50% at birth to 90% at 4 mo) struggled to keep up with the flow when he was a newborn. There was just so much so fast…
