If you are planning to study in Bangalore
For those planning to study in Bangalore, especially nursing — please check the college properly before joining.
Last year after my higher secondary results, I came to Bangalore for nursing admission. My father found a consultancy online. Their brochures looked really good, full of events and entertainment stuff. We liked it at first and paid around 1 lakh admission fee + 10k interview fee. They did a small interview and said i got selected.
I already started shopping and even posted it on Instagram. Then one friend who studies in Bangalore asked me which college. After hearing the name, he told me some colleges focus more on events to attract students and not much on studies.
That made me panic and i searched more online. Found many bad reviews about academics and even people saying students pay money to pass exams. Placement was also poor.
We informed the consultancy that we are not interested anymore. First they refused to refund, but later we got the money back with help from my father's relative in police.
Later the same friend gave me another contact and now i got admission in a much better college with good reputation and hospitals inside campus. Less events, but good academics and that's enough for me.
So before taking admission, research properly. In Bangalore your marks usually don't matter much, but some people may try to scare you saying your marks are low. Don't fall for it.
