hey y’all. throwaway for a little privacy. i work overnights at a grocery store. i’ve been doing this work for 6 years, with a stint in another career as a manager for a few months last year. i was fired from there for little things that they stacked together after asking to step down… it was a fishy situation so i went back to overnight stocking because it was what i know. i was an assistant manager before i left and now i’m just full time but i make about $60 more than when i was an assistant. however, the price of everything is going up so bad and i just can’t make this work anymore. i’m beginning to drown.

i live with my girlfriend and a roommate. my girlfriend has lived with me for nearly two years and hasn’t had a steady job for the entirety of those two years due to some medical stuff. i’m affording her, 3 cats, a dog, and myself and it just isn’t working anymore. i need a change of pace and a better paying job, but i don’t know where to begin.

i’m just looking for ideas for different careers. this overnight stocking has gotten to me; my body aches more now than it ever has. i turn 30 this year so i’m really starting to pay for it. obviously, i have managerial experience, about 3 years of it total. but i would really like a job in something i’m passionate about, or something that benefits the community. i have my high school diploma, but nothing higher than that. i would like to go back to school, but that’s just not affordable at this moment. i’m a very creative person, but i like video games, design, writing. i’m a quick learner and can pick things up rather quickly.
