I am a current student at UTSA and am set to graduate Spring 2027 with a civil engineering degree. Last semester I took CE 3233 Steel Design and unfortunately did not pass, which means I can no longer take CE 4543 Project Design and Construction Management on schedule.

UTSA has also reduced the number of summer courses being offered, so I’m only able to take two classes this summer. Because of this, I’m looking into taking CE 3233 Steel Design at another ABET-accredited university as a transient student and transferring the credit back in. Ideally I’m hoping for a fully online option since I work full time.

Has anyone successfully done this? If so, what college did you take it through and was UTSA willing to accept the transfer credit?
