Looking at getting a first bike and something that stands out is second hand resale prices.

I can get a brand new one with the eclutch for €999 more than a second hand one. I know it's only one owner and 2k km but for the sake of €999 why would someone buy a second hand one.

Do bikes really hold there value this well and is the second hand market that good?
