2016 Q5 with intermittent blower motor issue
Hey everyone,
Recently the GF's '16 has been having this intermittent issue with the HVAC blower motor. Roughly 30% of the time upon startup the blower does not function at any speed while the other 70% of the time it operates as normal. Seemingly the only way to get it to work again is shut off the car and then start again. Fuse is not popped and rapping the blower motor body lightly with the handle of a screwdriver has no effect (years ago I had a GM pickup with a bad blower motor you could get going again with a light tap).
I guess my question is, are the blower motor resistors on these known to cause issues? I don't want to go throwing darts at the wrong thing, but we have a long road trip coming up and we'd sure like to have AC.
