I've known it for a while, but never been able to look at it in more depth. I know it's obviously soviet inspired, but still haven't been able to pin it down

I really like the vibe of the imperial Japanese, and there's a lot of things about them as an army I'm a fan of. My only problem is warlords Japanese range. It feels like out of every army, Japan is the one who got the short end of the stick. All other armies were released with extra support weapons, HQ models, and vehicles, whereas the Japanese got a truck and some infantry. While I do like the box, it does lack a few things I kinda want, like some of the earlier weapon models, cap with those ear flaps, or even just an uncovered (not bald) head. Anyone know where I can find decent 28mm Japanese models?
I have the new Japan plastic kit, which I am enjoying a lot. I sort of want to run paratroopers too though, cause I see a lot of competitive players use them. Would I be able to build Paratroopers from the plastic kit by using SNLF helmets or something as a jump-helm sub? Or is that not really logical?
