Hi, I’m a Grade 12 student trying to choose between SFU Beedie (business) and UBC Arts → speech-language pathology.

I’m really stuck on which one to choose.

My dilemma:

• SFU Beedie: I like business, but I’m worried about networking pressure and not enjoying a corporate/desk job long-term. I also hear mixed things about business job prospects.
• UBC Arts → SLP: I like speech therapy and working with kids, but I’m worried about heavy writing, competitiveness, and not getting into grad school.

Other factors:

• Most of my friends are going to UBC, so the social/dorm experience is appealing
• UBC also feels more “prestigious”
• People also say business grads can struggle to find jobs, but I’ve heard similar things about Arts too, so I’m not sure what to believe.

My goal is a stable, well-paying, meaningful career, but I’m really scared of choosing wrong.

Any honest advice or personal experiences that can help me choose which school would really help.
