Projector focusing position sensor
Hi.
I have a formovie xming v1 ultra projector.
The focusing sensor circuit for lens travel position isn't working. It's a new unit and it goes to either end of travel and keeps clicking and won't reverse direction.
The focusing itself works as long as it operates in the middle range of lens position.
Here’s the summary
The Problem: The focus motor will not stop or reverse at the ends of travel. It stalls and clicks violently. This exact behavior happened on the original factory motor before it stripped, and it happens identically on the new replacement motor.
The Motor: The replacement motor is identical in specs to the original and operates perfectly well to manually focus and will autofocus as long as the sequence doesn't take the lens in or out to the very end of travel.
The Sensor Testing: I have verified the optical home sensor using a digital multimeter. The sensor is getting steady 1.8V power. What I presume without having the service manual is the signal pin functions correctly—it reads 2.8V when the solid black lens tab is inside the gap, and drops cleanly to 0V when the tab leaves the gap at both extremes.
The Issue: The sensor hardware may be working, but perhaps the mainboard completely ignores the signal transition at the ends of travel, causing the motor to smash into the housing.
Any thoughts?
