Hi,

Currently I am using a Vortex Diamondback HD 10x50. It works well and does the job, but since I also hunt and do a few long-range shooting trips each year(1.5km max range), I’ve been looking at upgrading.

A rangefinder-binocular combination seems like a logical next step. However, I also wouldn’t mind using a handheld rangefinder so I can get better glass in the binoculars for regular use. My budget is around €1500.

In this price range, I see options like the Vortex Fury. I do like Vortex as a brand, but I can’t find much information about the glass quality in the Fury.

I’ve also come across the Leica Geovid R SE. This seems to have much better glass—and, well, it’s a Leica.

Are there more options around? Or would it be smarter to buy a handheld rangefinder and spend the extra money on even better binocular glass?
