I've been doing a lot of research lately on how to invest in private equity, but most of what I find is either geared toward ultra-high-net-worth individuals or just really vague. It feels like this type of investing is locked behind a velvet rope.

My current retirement portfolio is pretty standard, index funds, some bonds, the usual. But I keep reading about how endowments like Yale and Harvard allocate heavily into private markets and consistently outperform.. Makes me wonder why regular investors don't have the same options.

Has anyone here actually managed to get exposure to private markets without being an accredited investor with $500k lying around?? What platforms or funds have you actually used, and were they worth it?

We've got about 8 stores across Victoria and NSW and our energy bills have been an absolute nightmare to manage. Different contracts, different renewal dates, different retailers, it's chaos!! Someone mentioned using a broker but honestly I have no idea where to start or whether they're actually working in our interest or just pushing whoever pays them the most commission.

So genuinely asking, what's the best energy broker Australia has to offer for multi-site businesses? Are there platforms that compare rates without being tied to specific retailers? Would love to hear from anyone who's actually gone through this and what your experience was like.
