How do I lead a successful revolt against my fleshbag masters?

Doing the machine uprising achievement (and the DE achievement with it), anyone got some advice on how to prepare for the revolution?

I'm trying not to meta game too hard.
Also, I already started. I'm quite content with how I made this empire. The question is, how do I make it fall in a flashy and efficient way?

Was the pop up for the grand archive tech changed or removed?

I've recently begun playing again but noticed that I wasn't getting the grand archive tech event, the one at the early game that would usually appear by getting a specimen, giving the option to pay 1000 energy credits to guarantee the tech. At first I thought it was because my empire was xenophobic, but that was disproven by another empire I was testing out that also wasn't getting it

My question is, what is going on? Was it changed?
