Crazy problem with mt laptop Asus rog strix g513qy
Hey,
My ASUS ROG Strix G513QY has been dead for weeks and
I'm running out of ideas.
**Symptoms:**
- Both Windows and Linux kernels crash immediately on initialization
- Bootloader loads fine, crash happens when kernel takes over
**What we've tried:**
- Windows 11 USB repair → endless loop
- UEFI shell BCD manipulation → same
- Hiren's Boot CD → hijacked by repair loop
- BIOS flash → same crash
- Different RAM → same crash
- Different SSD → same crash
- Ubuntu 25.04 → kernel crash
- Component-level technician with microscope + schematics → found nothing
**Current suspicion:**
EC (Embedded Controller) firmware corruption — hasn't been tested yet
**Specs:**
- CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX
- GPU: RX 6800M
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- OS: Was dual booting Windows + Linux (Grub2Win)
Root cause might be related to years of Linux dual booting corrupting something deep.
Any ideas?
