Time or Accuracy?

I was asked this question from a surgeon in a rotation and he asked if you’re operating, which would you jeopardize more, is it time and be late or accuracy of your work ..I had an opinion but would love to hear from people with some experience what is their answer to that question.

Thanks!

Volunteer advisor for someone Applying for Match 2027?

Looking for any bored newly matched resident, who’s potentially very busy but still likes to share opinions and give some education every once in a while, perhaps brainstorming even if not an expert..just someone mid level into the field whos knows how to handle medical ranting and ERAS application drama…if not found it’s fine..will keep swirling with general guidance lol.

Brain numb solutions- Match application process

Hey guys, I know that applying for the match requires tremendous mental energy to draft CV, PS and keep up with connections. I am kinda struggling with brain numb and trying to keep healthy exercising, eating etc but really want to brainstorm how to stay mindful and sharp during the process..it’s pretty exhausting and I am on my own so no advisors to FU with…tried to reach out to a few people but still seriously exhausting to keep up with rejections for simple requests and I realize everyone is too busy that’s why just trying to rely on general advice and my own processing…appreciate some thoughts.

212e rule>>J1 Research >>J1 Clinical or NIW risk?

I’m trying to understand the long-term immigration strategy. My situation is:
Previously on a U.S. government-funded J-1 Exchange Visitor program with an existing 212(e) requirement.
Currently on a J-1 Research Scholar visa.
Planning to apply for the Match and, if successful, transition to an ECFMG-sponsored J-1 Physician visa.
I have a strong research background and may be competitive for an EB-2 NIW.
My questions are:

  1. Has anyone filed an I-140 (EB-2 NIW) before starting residency while still on J-1?
  2. What’s the best timing to request for No Objection Statement and how?
3.Did having an approved I-140 create any issues obtaining the J-1 Physician visa or at future visa renewals?
4.Would you recommend filing the NIW before residency or waiting until after residency/waiver?
If you had to do it again, what immigration strategy would you choose?
I’m looking for real-world experiences rather than legal advice. Thanks!
