I think I may just be blessed with the correct type of hair, it's very fine, but thankfully I have a lot of it. I assume it's very porous. I am quite grey at the roots now but was sick of the 3 hour henna applications every 3 weeks. Someone here mentioned a henna mask a few weeks ago and I tried it. Now I only need to spend 30-40 mins every 3 weeks on it. It's been such a time saver. Plus it has the bonus of smelling like nice conditioner. I (and the kids) hate the henna smell.
I use a mix of light mountain red and dark brown. Add a little cooled boiled water. Then mix in some conditioner until it has the correct texture. Apply and wash out with one lot of shampoo 40. mins later.
Here's what it looks like after I did it today. The middle section was mostly white before I did it. It's not perfect but it's close enough. Hopefully this might be helpful to a couple of you with similar hair.
