Is it possible to work during EMJM?

I'm set to graduate July 2027 with a bachelor's in AI, not sure what the US equivalent is but my GPA is 27.3/30 (I'm based in Italy)

I have an internship in AI done and a couple of technical industry projects (through my university)

I applied to SPAR and am hoping desperately to get a yes, but in theory I'm collaborating on a research paper starting in september in a pretty shady online research group who recently accepted me - we'll see.

I'm in talks with my professor of doing my research thesis in computer vision - should be a guarantee.

My interests are very broad. I'm thinking of applying to a few relevant EMJMs, like 5-6. My priorities are IMLEX and EMJM imagining. Of course if anyone by the grace of god were to give me the scholarship, I wouldn't think twice.

EMJM is particularly interesting because I live in Milan rent free, and if I could live abroad for only one year, that'd be way less expensive, and may be doable for me. Only, I'd need to start working this year in order to save up while finishing my degree and the next year if I get accepted to emjm imaging without the scholarship. How difficult is that? Would I manage to complete my coursework anyway, say workinf 24h a week? Thank you

SPAR AI Research 2026 Fall Cohort: has anyone heard back?

I applied 20-ish days ago to 8 projects, really put some effort (and research) into my answers and only applied to those I had the prerequisites for. I don't think my chances are high at all:

- AI bachelor's student (Europe) , good GPA

- Junior AI engineering internship

- a few data science consultancy projects with a team of students

- No research experience

- No AI-safety specific experience (except a few lab sessions in uni + doing the first chapter of ARENA)

0 interviews so far.

Still, I'm kind of hopeful that maybe one professor who hasn't gotten enough applications might accept me...did anyone else here apply?
