URGENT: Proof of Education Requirement - Italy Student Visa

I have been selected into the EMJM MATHS-DISC program for 2026/2027 intake, and will be starting at University of Verona in September this year. I’m an Indian citizen, but I have done my bachelor’s from the USA, and have been residing in the USA for past 4.5 years on F-1 visa. My USA visa is about to expire in December, so I need to apply for Italy Student visa from my home country India. I just have a few questions:

  1. How can I satisfy “Proof of Education” requirements? From my university in the USA, I have official diploma and official transcript. If I get CIMEA, do I still need additional apostille/attest?

  2. Since I have resided in the USA for last 4.5 years, do I need additional documents other than the visa checklist to assist my application?

Please help!

Need Suggestion

I'm an Electrical and Electronic Engineering graduate with a CGPA of 3.43/4.0, currently working as a Network Support Engineer with hands-on experience in Cisco and MikroTik routing, LAN/WAN administration, firewall configuration, and bandwidth management. I hold an IELTS score of 6.5 and am preparing to retake it with a target of 7.5+. My final-year academic project was a solar-powered autonomous drone for wildfire detection, which sharpened my interest in applied, impact-driven technology. I'm currently pursuing CCNP certification, funded by BACP, with the exam scheduled for November 2026. I'm targeting MSc programs in Telecommunications, Networking, or Cybersecurity, aiming to build on my professional networking background at graduate level. I'm specifically looking at Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programs as well as fully-funded government scholarships (Türkiye Bursları, CSC, Stipendium Hungaricum, GKS) since I need funding that doesn't require proof-of-funds. I'd appreciate honest feedback on how competitive this profile is for Erasmus Mundus specifically, given the GPA and current IELTS band.

Looks like the first 2027 call for applications has started!

The EMJM MARIHE (Master in Research and Higher Education) has opened applications for 2027!

Deadline: September 21, 2026 at 10am CEST

I know… you might be thinking “what this is so unexpected and so early!”

Yep it’s true. That’s why I always advise people to actively work on applications over the summer. Even if your program(s) have not officially announced their call for applications. You never know when it can happen. You have to be prepared and ready to dive in.

PM me if you need tips. Good luck!

And if your programs haven’t opened yet, start strategizing now.

Preparing for EMJM early

Hi everyone, I'm currently in my second year of my Bachelor's in Biochemical Engineering (I'll graduate in 2028 if everything goes according to plan). I know it's a bit early, but I want to start building a really competitive CV, since Erasmus Mundus is one of the Master's scholarships I'm aiming for.

Right now I'm looking at some programs like BioCEB, SBBE, S-DISCO, MemBioMed, EMABG, MESD, and BIOPHAM

I know internships, research experience, and similar activities are important, but I imagine most applicants have those. What are some things that can actually make an application stand out? Are there any experiences or achievements that admissions committees particularly value?

If anyone here has been accepted to one of these programs (or even applied), I'd love to hear what your profile looked like and what you think helped your application.

Also, I'll be going on an Erasmus exchange in Prague next spring. Since it's in a related field, I'm wondering how much that actually helps for Erasmus Mundus applications. Does having international academic experience make a noticeable difference, or is it just a nice bonus? Or do they not care at all

Self funded and worth it

Hi, looking for accounts from students who went on a self funded EMJM and still found it worth it. I see a lot of others saying the opposite, but I want to be encouraged by those who did find it worth it.

Can self funded EMJM students share your positive experience? Also, did the negative feeling of not being awarded a scholarship eventually go away? Thank you 😊

German Post Study (EMJM) Extension for Job-seekers

Hi, A part of my Erasmus Mundus Master's was in Germany. During the entire duration, although we had a Temporary residence permit (Student Permit) from another country, we were still enrolled as a full time students in Germany, which btw gives us the 18 months job seekers visa extension option. I've been wondering if someone in a similar situation has extended their visa and what was the requirement or timeline. Any experiences or advice would help.

Thx

What are my chances? 3,8 GPA

Area: Literature, Language acquisition, Education
Programs: TelME, Edumigs, CLE, CMLE

I’m from Brazil, I graduated last December in Portuguese and French Language and Literature, to be a teacher. My GPA is 3,8.
I did a lot of things while on university, such as 2 interships, 2 research iniciation programs, 2 years of extension projects (1 year as a literature teacher, 1 year as instructional designer working with an indigenous comunity to create a bilingual alphabetization material for kids to learn portuguese and kaingang, an indigenous language). Right now, I’m working as a Language Teacher, teaching kids, teens and adults.
But, as a teacher in Brazil, I don’t have a lot of money to spend, and EMJM application is very expensive here (we got to translate our documents, the english certification is a lot expensive, I also need to take my passport…).
So, do you guys think I have chances?
I still don’t have any publications

Question about Consortium scholarship - they asked me to confirm my interest by paying a reimbursable fee. Is it legit?

I just received an email informing me that I got a scholarship covering the full tuition fee of an EMJM Program, which is great, but I'm a little worried about it being a scam because they are asking me to "secure my place" by making a deposit of 250 EUR that they say will reimburse upon my arrival and enrolment. The email address seems legit but I know it is possible to do some phishing hacks to send emails from a seemingly trusted address. Does anyone know if asking for that is normal?

Importance of research?

I graduated from college around 3 years ago with a 91.3/100 in Software Engineering in LATAM. I have been working in Software ever since I was a student. First as a software engineer student at Intel, then full time at Intel and now a Data Engineer at another company (Sums up to around 5 years of work experience). The thing is, I don’t have research experience at all. I was planning on starting a 2 year masters degree next year (research based) in order to gain this experience and apply next year to hopefully get a scholarship for 2028, which would give me plenty of time to actually finish the research masters. I’m also studying German (A2 as of right now) specifically for DEAI which holds a big part in Austria.

I just feel like I’m not enough for these programs. All the posts here show amazing experience in the industry, research, perfect GPAs and stuff like that. I don’t know if I compete.
