Ive been married for a few years and love my rings. My engagement ring is a 1.8 carat solitaire radiant cut bezel setting.

The ring is gorgeous and i love the look from the top, but i’d like to add some extra light coming in from the sides (currently its solid gold from the band to the top of the stone). I think i’m looking to go from a full bezel to an open bezel?

Is it possible to alter my ring without causing damage to the original setting? And how expensive would that be?

(Note that my husband is supportive of this as he had it custom made but didnt know about the sides being an option and the custom jeweller he used didnt ask any questions about it when he was designing/making the ring.)
