I'm a complete beginner and my dream is to climb El Cap some day. Emphasis on SOME DAY. I know that's a very very far away goal!

I just wanted to see if anyone that started a little later in life (30+) would share a little bit about their journey? I know everyone's journey is different, but I'm curious how long it has taken others to achieve a similar goal?
