Seniors with a 5 in profile how did you actually crack SIPs?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been going through a bit of a dilemma and wanted some honest advice from seniors who had a “5” in their profile (acads or otherwise) and still managed to secure decent SIPs at IIMs or other B-schools.
There’s a lot of generic advice online, but I’m trying to understand what actually worked in real scenarios.
How did you tailor your resume to present your profile in the best light?
What kind of skills or certifications did you consciously add before SIP season?
How did you justify or balance out that “5” during interviews?
Were there specific roles or domains you targeted more realistically?
Any mistakes you made that others should avoid?
Also, how much did things like internships, PORs, or live projects help in offsetting the profile?
Would really appreciate honest, no-filter insights — especially what didn’t work initially and what you changed later.
