Help, having a mini panic attack over my hair texture

Help, having a mini panic attack over my hair texture

A year ago I had steroid shots in the back of my scalp and the hair has grown back looser than the rest of my hair. More like 3B vs. my typical 4A texture. The strands are also not as thick and it hangs lower, I can’t blend or hide it. It completely messes up any wash and go I try to do. It looks like a bunch of heat damaged hair, except it’s not.

I big chopped 17 months ago and I thought I could wear my curly fro throughout this forever lasting awkward phase but my hair just looks an utter mess in the back. I spent the past hour trying to finger coil it and it looks horrible. My hair is about 8-9 inches stretched.

Any suggestions? I didn’t want to cut it because the hair is technically healthy, I’m not a straight natural.

(Pic is after I brushed out my finger coils in frustration 😭)

$0 in deductible recovery across three not-at-fault accidents

I’m not sure if this is a revelation, a vent, or if I’m asking for advice. However, all respectful responses are appreciated.

We have progressive and been with them the past 4 years.

1st accident July 2023, someone backed into our SUV as she was pulling out of a parking spot and my husband was driving straight. Damaged our passenger side doors. She had no insurance.

My UM covered the accident. Progressive said they would get our deposit back. Two years later they said “we exhausted all our options and no luck.”

2nd accident March 2026, I was driving straight slowly in front of a school during drop off hours, a car went into the oncoming traffic lane to go around me. He didn’t clear my car and ended up hitting my driver side, damaging my front bumper. Turns out he was an uber driver in an uber rental. Uber was giving us the runaround, so I used my insurance to speed up the repairs. No luck yet with subrogation

3rd accident June 2026, driving straight on a 3 lane one way. Other driver (at high speed) randomly slams into my driver side, pushing me out of my driving lane and into a parked car. Totaled both his car, mine, and the parked car. We both have progressive, he claims he swerved out of the path of a phantom driver from a side street. No one to corroborate his story, but Progressive decides we all have to use our own insurance anyway. They gave us both the same adjuster, and she kept mentioning he might not have enough coverage to cover my vehicle, my injuries, and the other parked car.

Now I’m at 3 accidents. No reimbursements, no explanations. I mean, is this typical? Did we just have a bout of unfortunate luck? should we consider switching auto insurers?

Or is this what it was all along: car insurance is for you, and you only. Maybe that’s it.

I just can’t imagine Progressive not wanting to be reimbursed (with the exception of the last accident)

New car has damage

Hi! We bought a brand new SUV last night but didn’t notice until this morning that it had more extensive damage on the front end bumper.

We initially test drove a different car and at the last minute we switched the color. My husband went out to inspect it while I held on to our toddler. He said there was some paint rubbed off and the manager said they’ll clean it off before we take it home.

Earlier in the evening while walking around the lot with my toddler, I took random pictures of the cars. The car we got happened to be in one of the photos.

I took another picture of the car with the bow on it after we signed.

The car also has continuous recording front and back dash cams that were activated as soon as we got in the car, even while parked. The video shows that we did not have any incidents that could’ve caused this damage.

However, the bumper damage was only really visible if you squat down closely

I reviewed the pictures from yesterday and noticed that you can see the damage if you zoom in.

Sales told me I need to go through Service. Service didn’t return my call. I plan to drive back to the dealership.

Is this something we can argue or are we SOL?

Edited for clarity

Update: we went to the dealership. The person I was text was not the sales manager although they never bothered to clarify that even though I used their first name more than once. It was the CSM.

The sales manager said they were aware of the damage but not necessarily the extent of it. So they’re going to fix the car. I requested an updated We Owe document and damage disclosure.

Thank you to everyone who responded.

My lovely ‘24 calligraphy was totaled this past weekend.

At no fault of my own, but I feel like I’m in mourning. The cops that arrived on the scene were killing me softly by complimenting it and asking how it rides. One officer even said to the other “yeah I’m really thinking about trading in my pathfinder for one. It’s a nice car.”

😭😭😭😭

The front was completely crumbled, but I was able to walk away with my life so it’s did its job and protected me.

FYI: I hope none of you ever have to find out but.. Those side airbags are no joke!

Now I’m contemplating which one we should get next the ‘25 or ‘26. I might even just get another ‘24. In my 40 years, I’ve never loved a car so much.
