What attracts you to weird girl lit?
Hey folks,
I'm new to this community and love that I found you on the internet. I've been in love with weird girl lit reads for a few years now, but never quite realised it was a whole pop culture sub-genre.
Fast forward to today, and I'm writing an article for my blog, which argues for more nuanced literature in today's world of outsourcing cognition and critical thinking. Weird girl lit comes in as my number one recommendation to spur deep thinking and force oneself to accept endings and narratives which aren't explicitly served up on a silver tray.
The reason I find this sub-genre so enticing is that it mirrors trains of thought I wouldn't explore on a daily basis and allows me to linger just past the edge of reality.
I'd love to hear what attracted you to the genre or whether you have any thoughts on the theme of my article. I'm also more than happy to cite/quote you if that's something you're interested in 😌
