My "Budget and Portable" rig
Just sharing my rig that I recently "mostly" finished up. My biggest requirement is that it needed to be somewhat portable and able to stow away when im not using it. As you can probably see, its setup in my music room which is already pretty tight. I did pretty much the entire setup using budget items and honestly, its working out great. I still need to work out a couple little kinks here and there but its been great so far.
The cockpit is the Mineer foldable cockpit available on temu and other sellers. I did a detailed review of this last fall. TLDR, its great and is holding up well. $155
Moza r3 bundle with the clutch pedal and break pedal spring mod. ~$350
Mineer triple monitor stand on wheels $100
3x Sceptre 1080p 100hz 27" monitors (prime day deal $85ea)
Amazon 6sp H pattern shifter ~$50
Amazon ebrake $40
I had a couple extra Klipsch Quintet speakers laying around so I picked up a cheap stereo amplifier on Amazon to run them. I mounted them to the top of the monitor stand with a couple zip ties. The amp was $25.
I used roughly 50 dollars in miscellaneous cabling including longer DP cables.
For a little over 1k, it checks all my boxes and im pretty happy with it. Im not counting my PC in the mix as I already owned it prior to the hobby for other games and production. I do really enjoy playing in VR but its not sustainable for me after more than a few minutes at a time. This was my VR alternative (though im still keeping my Rift S).
Now I just need some friends to race with 🙃
