Do you know of any Vaidyas who specialises in detailed application of Ayurvedic Dietetics?
I’m in serious need of an Ayurvedic Dietitian. I don’t even know where to begin to explain myself. Do you know anyone that is really focused on detailed dietetic implementation (not just giving general advice)
31M, 180cm, ~51-53kg. For years I’ve had cycles of very large “healthy” meals (high fibre, huge vegetable intake, structured eating) alternating with binge eating episodes that are becoming more frequent. Despite eating massive volumes, I rarely feel properly satisfied. I’m scared That I’ve trained my stomach to not feel anything anymore due to such large volumes.
Digestive symptoms include chronic loose/unformed stools with residue that sometimes feels hot, (somewhat low volume considering how much fiber I eat, in the past I have had smooth large and clean bowel movements, but not now), a few incidents of stool if trying to pass wind, on/off sulfur/foul flatulence that feels hot, on/off faecal-type breath odour, post-meal sleepiness (try not to fall asleep as I sit 15 mins after eating, but then have stable energy. I walk 25-30k steps per day and try to do moderate bodyweight workouts in the last 6 months), and a lot of anxiety/mental preoccupation around food and “fixing” my health through diet. I’ve cycled through high-carb, very high protein, keto/carnivore, and restrictive “gut healing” diets over the past ~6–7 years.
My current eating has been the following (what I ate yesterday on a normal day, but today I ate normally for half the day and then binge eating):
wake between 4 and 4:30am.
1.5 to 2 glasses boiled and warm water at 4:45am
6:15am breakfast: 100g whole oat groats, soaked for 12 hours, drained and added 600ml water and boiled 2 minutes, then in slow cooker overnight. Morning add 300g of frozen mixed berries, 15g walnuts, and 15g hemp seeds in last 1 hour. Ends up being about 1000g of food, finish eating at about 7:30am
i particularly often feel hollow grumblings or grinding feeling about 2 hours after breakfast
12:15 Lunch: 2x400g cans chickpeas (500g drained), re-boiled. And 300-400g of steamed non starchy vegetables, and 7g olive oil. About 800-900g of food, and finish at about 1:30pm (But today I immediately binge ate: 100g mixed nuts, 100g dry corn flakes, and 100g dry Weet-bix and 20g of ghee. So about 1100g of food, and finish eating at 2:30pm)
6:15pm Dinner: 250g beef mince, and 700g mixed vegetables, and 150ml water, cooked in pot as a soup/braised. About 1000-1100g of food and finish at 7:30pm (including liquid) (but today I ate 2x400ml microwave soups and 2x250g microwave rice pouches)
bed at about 9:30pm
Other pure binge eating meals can include 1300g of takeaway (like nachos), or 8 slices of toast with 2x300g cans baked beans, or 300g of dry museli + 250g nuts, or 300g of dry cereal + nuts
(this gives about 80% idea of my diet habits. I used to go weeks without bingeing, but the last 6 months I have only gone 3-7 days before bingeing for 1-3 days again)
I’m currently tempted to just eat only kitchari to see if my body can get a baseline that I can make better decisions with, but I don’t know what to do (I’m scared that everything I try to do is just I’m balancing myself more by always changing things)
Please can you help me if You know of anybody. Thank you.
