MFP alternatives?

Been a premium member since “premium” became a thing but I simply cannot get used to this new UI. I tend to be an early adopter and like new tech and what not but I simply cannot get used to this new UI it is very frustrating. Wish they gave us an option to choose between old version or new version. Any way, anyone recommend any other alternatives? I been eyeing “LoseIt!” Any other ones you might recommend?

Food diary entries awful with new UI

With this new update I hate how my diary entry’s are not put in order of how I select them. They get all mixed together and it makes it hard to look at my meal at first glance in a list. Same with no multi-add being gone making it easier to track. I have tracked this way to make it make sense in my mind (drinks first, protein second, carbs third, vegetables and fruit last) etc. Not sure if anyone else tracks similar to this but it helps me keep things organized in my mind and a visual list.

They have completely ruined the usability of the most important part of this app - the food diary for more clicks and advertising revenue.

For anyone counting calories/macros: what's the thing that makes you skip logging on a given day?

For me personally, I have been using this product for a long time. However, I find it difficult to stay consistent with it.

My logs are often intermittent, so I wanted to ask if anyone else has had a similar experience? And what makes you skip logging?

How do you decide when eating out?

I had a double Bondi burger, standard no changes, today. I went to oportos nutrition info, and got nothing about macros, so I went to MFP. It’s honestly really daunting as a newer calorie counter when all of these varying numbers come up. Like there are multiple “standard double bondis” in this list, but they all have different calories and macros.

My question is when you guys are eating out, and still want to count the calories but it’s not readily available, what’s the correct approach to actually logging the food??

Thanks so much!

Can the app creators please add a way to manually adjust steps?

Title. I don’t use an app that’s compatible with MyFitnessPal and I would like way to manually input my steps so I can keep everything in one place.

Why is myfitnesspal running ads like these? It’s obviously sexual, no?

Edit - for the idiots, yes.. IDIOTS who think I’m searching this stuff up and that it’s targeted, that is most definitely not the case. I don’t view any sexually explicit material on my phone or in general for that matter. If it were targeted ads, I’d get ads about baggy jeans and skateboards.

I don’t know how ad space works with myfitnesspal but I can’t imagine they don’t have a say or have some sort of filtering system regarding what gets advertised.

I swear, this app is just continuously doing things that no longer surprise me.

Blatant sexually/fetish implied material ran for ads on a fu*king calorie/nutrition tracking app. The f*ck ass dickheads back at the office are on a roll this year

Any way to (loosely) quantify the premium cancellations?

I just received my refund from the Play Store for my Premium membership that renewed in March. My accepted rationale was that this update has left me feeling like I paid for an app that I don't recognize anymore, and I feel a bit duped.

I got my $128.78 (CAD) refund right away.

It got me thinking... I wonder, is there any way for us to make some sort of sheet where we can collectively input our refunds (or lost future revenue to MFP due to cancelation) so we can see approximately how much the cancelations are impacting MFP? Probably not hey. May be tricky with conversion and world wide currency... And not every MFP member being on Reddit...

Or is this a dumb late night idea? 😅 Y'know what, nevermind. 😂

is there any way the app can be set to display the actual calories burned according to the watch?

My biggest issue is that calories burned outside of workouts are not counted in the my fitness app

like if i had a day at work where i took 26000 steps and burned 3700 calories while eating 3100 cals the app shows that i went over by 400 cals rather than me having a 600 calorie deficit

like its cool but when im thumbing through my records in the future im not going to necessarily recall that and its just gonna look like i had a bunch of slack days

with all the updates and stuff i wish that was something they would fix

24M | New to Withings and my leaderboard is embarrassingly empty 😅

Hey everyone!

Just joined the Withings family and I’m loving the app so far – except for one tiny problem: my leaderboard looks like a ghost town. Turns out competing against yourself gets boring real quick (spoiler: I always win AND lose).

I’m 24, trying to get my fitness game together, and apparently my resting heart rate thinks I’m perpetually watching horror movies. Currently at 81 bpm which I’m told is “fine” but also “could be better” – classic.

Looking for some friends to add so I can:

•Feel motivated by your step counts
•Feel better about myself when you skip leg day too
•Actually use that “challenge friends” feature that’s been judging me

Whether you’re a fitness guru who’ll make me question my life choices, or someone who celebrates hitting 5,000 steps like it’s a marathon – let’s connect!

Drop a comment or DM if you want to add each other. Let’s make this leaderboard less sad together! 💪

Or use my add link. But i dont know if its allways the same link.(i mean if it will be changed if somone adds me)

Easiest method for calculating calories in a full home cooked meal (and how much I should eat)?

Hiya!

I usually use MyFitnessPal. I want to be able to say I threw X amount of pasta, Y amount of sauce, Z amount of meat into a pot and know the deal. Now, the app can tell me the calories of the whole pot, but it wants ME to choose how many servings it is. I like to cook from the heart. I don’t want to know I’m making 4 servings or whatever. I want something that can say “ok you added all these ingredients, you should eat 1 cup of this dish to achieve your macros/calories.” Does anyone know of a feature or app that does that?

TIA

Editing for clarity: I’m not asking how to calculate the calories per serving. I was hoping for a way for an app to suggest, ok based on your daily goals of carbs/fats/calories etc, you should eat X amount of the dish you just cooked. But I have gotten some great suggestions to cheat the calculations so thanks for those ideas!

Oof

I fear I must add my voice to chorus of what on EARTH were they thinking. I can no longer multi-select items to copy to another day. Adding food is harder. Editing foods is harder. Everything is worse. Time for a change.

1-Star Review – Absolute Garbage Overhaul. MyFitnessPal Killed Its Own App.

This new April 2026 "update" is an unmitigated disaster.

What the hell were you thinking? Every single time I log food, this childish "YAYY!" pops up with stupid confetti exploding all over the screen like I'm a toddler who just ate broccoli. It's patronizing, distracting, and completely unnecessary. I didn't download a party app -> I downloaded a calorie tracker (for 10 damn years!!!). Turn this infantile crap off or remove it entirely.

The new UI is even worse. Logging food now requires pointless extra clicks: tap into breakfast/dinner/etc. -> then another tap to the food list -> then log (and that Goddamn confetti animation is vibe coded shit-maxing). Why? The old diary let me see my whole day at a glance. Now everything is buried behind "View All" cards and extra menus. It's slower, clunkier, and feels like it was designed by someone who has never tracked macros in their life. This isn't an "upgrade"…. it's pure vibe-coded enshittification. Looks flashy for 5 seconds, then destroys the actual usability that made people stick with this app for years.

I've been a loyal user (and paying Premium customer) for a long time (a decade), but this garbage has me canceling immediately and switching to a better alternative. The old interface worked perfectly. This one is frustrating trash that wastes my time every single day.

I - and I bet most loyal customers - have MFP for one reason:

Log food quickly. See your day instantly. Get out of the way.

Anything that’s impedes this core flow should always be a big NO!!!

MyFitnessPal: Listen to your users before you lose us all. Revert this mess or add a proper toggle to kill the animations and go back to a functional diary. As it stands, this overhaul sucks. Hard.

Its moves like these (and what notability app did with their overhaul) that make you realize companies are their own worst enemies.

Doctor used to use it as a way to monitor progress, but no longer…

My GP is also an obesity specialist, I came to her morbidly obese. She asked me to use MFP to track my food and she had the log in to see what I was eating and how much activity I was getting. She used this for all of her patients. NOW the tool is useless. It doesn’t track correctly, etc. I am now Turkish and have advised her to switch to turkey too. But it’s really sad that these tools are being taken from Doctors that are really TRYING to help people lose weight safely and teach them how to do it. This update is horrible.

Cal AI

Hi everyone, I did the free trial from Cal AI after knowing that MFP bought them. I have been using MFP for years but I love the AI feature, it makes it way less time consuming, even more when I’m not worried about like having accurate calories but more like an average (which works well for my goals!). I really liked the interface but then when I was trying to sign up for the membership I got a bit confused, they offer so many packages lol it seems suspicious. Does anyone have the premium and if so which option should I pick?

What to put as my activity level

I currently work out 4x a week but work a desk job most of the day. I don’t log my workouts on the workout tab because I do different workouts throughout the week. What should I log my activity level as? Just want to make sure I’m on a deficit. I’m 5’4 130 lbs, female 28
