Hi! Was wondering if anyone knows how strict Madrid Barajas is in regards to weight of carry on?

I always exceed so I usually just leave my carry on on the side or with a friend while I check in so that it doesn't get weighed and so far it has not been a problem for me.

However I have heard that Madrid Barajas airport is stricter, so my question is if they weigh at the counter so I can still do what I do and bypass the weight restriction, or do they also weigh before boarding at the gate??

For reference bringing 2 carry ons, one is a shoulder bag and the other is a small trolley (overweight but its small so it doesnt look it).

Hi, i'm an international student currently based in Madrid and im on financial assistance so I get free tuition and about €600 monthly allowance. However my rent alone is €450, leaving me with just about 150 for the rest of the month. This month I had some unexpected expenses and I just need some extra cash to get me through May.
