Moonlit Sailor - Waiting For Nothing
So many band we love of this genre.
I'd say post rockers are more passionate about the music they love than any other genre, because (mostly) instrumental music is one that takes a certain level of introspection, depth, and philosophy on not just a worldly basis, but transcends the cosmos and the universe itself to other dimensions or parallels.
We all feel it when we listen.
This is Moonlit Sailor. Of ALL the post rock bands we can name and post, none has more consistently been involved in my life since I first heard them than Moonlit Sailor.
Hailing from Borås, Sweden, these 4 musicians put out 4 albums - each album a titan in post rock, though mentioned so much less than the major ones we always find here.
On May 8, 2017, drummer Adam Törnblad tragically lost his battle with depression and passed away.
Some of you know, some of you don't, he was also the drummer for U137 (another incredible post rock band) and Sons of London (literally amazing pop punk revivalish sound I've heard)
Adam shared those two bands with guitarist, Oscar Gullbrandsen. Also the guitarist of Moonlit Sailor.
I messaged Oscar by email after Adam had passed. Explaining how heartbroken I was to know a person who was part of a band that saved me from my own drowning depression, lost his battle to his own. Oscar messaged me back with a reply that still to this day makes me cry looking back on it.
Anyways, I wanted them to get some love here, as I'm just re listening to their albums and how amazing literally EVERY song is.
Thanks for reading. Enjoy.
